Center Operation
Departure / Pick-up
It is the responsibility of the parent to notify the teacher of the
child's departure at the end
of the day. Then the teacher will mark the child's name off on the
classroom attendance sheet. Parents also need to sign the child out
at the front desk, the time and the pick-up person's name are required.
We use this sheet in the event of needing to evacuate the building
in an emergency, and keep a record of when a child is picked up, as
well as who picked up the child.
When there is adequate time to talk to parents without the children's
safety being jeopardized, teachers may talk with you about your child's
day. At other times, the parent should refer to the weekly parent
notes. Serious concerns may need to be addressed by scheduling a meeting
at a time coverage can be arranged for the teacher to be available.
It also may be addressed to the Director.
No one but parent/guardians or those identified on the emergency
release form will be allowed to pick up children. Pick-up people must
be age 15 or older.
Late Pick - Up Policy
Millennium Day Care Center closes at 6:00 p.m. Arrangements must
be made for the child's departure at that time. Parents, who are delayed
unexpectedly, should notify the center. Parents
will be charged $10 after 6:00 p.m. and an additional $10 after each
15 minute period.
If a parent has not contacted the Center, and has not been reached
by the teacher, we will call people on your emergency pick up list
and ask them to come to get your child. If nobody can be reached and
your child is still at the Center at 6:30 p.m., we will call the Department
of Social Services Hot Line. They will come and take care of your
child until you or an emergency person can be contacted. This is in
accordance with State law. If someone comes
to pick up a child and the person appears to be under the influence
of alcohol or a controlled substance, we will not release the child
to the person. Instead we will call another person from the
pick up list to pick up the child.
By law, Millennium cannot deny release or access of a child to a parent
without a restraining order.
